Limitations
Beta changes across regimes and can behave poorly during stress. Nonlinear options, volatility shifts and company events add risks that a single weighted delta cannot describe.
A practical example
Two positions each have +50 share delta, but one stock trades at $20 and another at $300. Their raw counts match, while dollar exposure and benchmark sensitivity differ substantially.
